Half Black Leopards are my favorite in the guppy hobby. Im literally obsessed, If at all possible, I have several strains going all the time, and am always experimenting with different crosses to fulfill my never ending desire to have that perfect half black fish with yellow and black tail. The best way to achieve this was the way I stumbled upon half black leopards in the first place, cross a yellow variegated snake with a half black fish (yellow, pastel, leopard). They are my absolute favorite, and have always been from the very beginning.
Half Black Leopards come in many different shapes and sizes. I like a half black guppy with a deep yellow color and black variegation/spots/speckles and a matching dorsal. Some have pastel tails, but I’m partial to YELLOW, not white, which is why I dont use pastels at all in my breeding program. I perform partial water changes at least once every other week, more often when I have time. The guppies are fed several times a day with live, frozen, and flake foods. The live foods I use aside from the traditional (BBS & microworms), include fruit flies; baby crickets; cleaned, crushed earthworms; and egg yolk (yummy). The guppies love the fresh insects and go crazy for them, I always ensure the food is small enough for the gups to digest. All guppies are created equal. Well, not really, but I treat them that way. All guppies, including the wild-type fish, are fed the same foods, and given the same living conditions as the show quality and pet stock. Thanks for visitng ;-) |
